President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to promoting national unity, shared values, and social cohesion, following a high-level meeting with the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.
The engagement, described as formal and strategic, saw the NOA Director General brief the President on the agency’s progress and ongoing interventions since his appointment in October 2023. Issa-Onilu noted that the agency’s recent achievements, though modest, reflect a renewed focus on value reorientation in line with the administration’s broader governance agenda.
According to the briefing, the progress recorded by the agency is closely tied to the President’s leadership and consistent support, which have provided the policy direction and enabling environment for repositioning the NOA’s programmes and expanding its nationwide reach.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the NOA boss to present the agency’s proposed programmes and projects for the 2026 operational year. The initiatives, he explained, are aimed at deepening citizen engagement, strengthening the National Values Charter, and intensifying sensitisation campaigns across the country.
Issa-Onilu sought the President’s approval and guidance on the proposed plans to ensure alignment with national priorities and facilitate effective implementation.
The interaction highlights the administration’s emphasis on national orientation as a critical tool for achieving governance outcomes, with a focus on ensuring that key institutions remain accountable and impactful.
