The Edo State House of Assembly has approved the 2025 Appropriation Bill, totaling 675.2 billion naira.
Dubbed the “Budget of Renewed Hope,” the bill allocates 225 billion naira for recurrent expenditure and 451 billion naira for capital projects.
Presenting the committee’s report, the Chairman of the Appropriation and Project Monitoring Committee, Honourable Sunday Fada, said the appropriation bill was reviewed upward from 605 billion naira to 675.2 billion naira.
Fada noted that the budget’s approval would enhance accountability and transparency in governance, ensuring responsive service delivery to the people of Edo State.
The 2025 appropriation bill was initially presented to the assembly by the state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and subsequently referred to the Appropriation Committee for review, with a directive to report back within one week.
Following its passage, Speaker Right Honourable Blessing Agbebaku directed the Clerk, Yahaya Omogbai, to forward clean copies of the bill to the Governor for assent.
