The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare the second, has urged the Governor-elect of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to honour his campaign promises to the people of the state.
This appeal was made during a visit from Okpebholo and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, who presented their certificates of return to the monarch.
The revered monarch thanked his ancestors for a peaceful election and commended President Bola Tinubu for facilitating a successful election in Edo State.
The Oba assured the governor Elect that his palace is always opened to him.
The Oba also said he would continue to pray without ceasing ahead of the forthcoming Emoro, also known as the New Yam festival and his eighth coronation anniversary.
Earlier, Okpebholo thanked the monarch for his prayers and assured that he and his deputy Governor-elect would do their best to ensure fulfilment of their promise to the people.
