The Governorship Candidate of the People's Redemption Party, Patience Key Ndidi has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare the second, the Oba of Benin, on the return of two significant artefacts - a wooden and a bronze stool - to the Benin Kingdom. 

Key in a statement noted that the return of the historic artefacts marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing journey to reclaim stolen treasures and reaffirm Benin rich cultural heritage.

According to her, the return of the arte facts also underscores the Benin Kingdom's vast contributions to global culture and heritage. 

"Such achievements highlight the intrinsic value and undeniable potency of our ancestral legacies, which have endured despite the adversities of history. The Oba of Benin's leadership in these endeavours is commendable and embodies the spirit of determination and reverence for our past that we, as Edo people, hold dear", she added. 

The PRP candidate affirmed that drawing on her experience in bridging cultural and economic gaps between Nigeria and the international community, she is uniquely positioned to leverage the Benin Kingdom's unique cultural assets to foster sustainable development and economic prosperity in Edo State. 

"My tenure as Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Americas, USA (NIDOA, USA) has endowed me with invaluable insights and networks that will be instrumental in promoting Edo State as a prime destination for cultural tourism and international investments.

She continued: "this celebratory moment also serves as a poignant reminder of the latent potential within Edo State to transcend its current challenges and become a beacon of prosperity and cultural magnificence on the global stage. If nations as small as Mauritius can harness their cultural heritage to become a premier tourist destination, then Edo State, with its rich tapestry of history, culture, and resources, is poised for an even greater transformation.
