The Senate has said there are moves to review upwards the 5.079 trillion naira 2024 revenue target of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) from the second half of the year to save the country from further borrowings.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Customs, Isah Jibrin revealed this in Abuja at a crucial meeting with the Comptroller General, NCS, Adewale Adeniyi and top management of the revenue agency.
He noted that one of the ways for Nigeria to leave the trap of debt obligations is internally generated revenue, urging the NCS to play its roles in the drive to reduce debt burden.
