The Edo State Government says a mobile court has been set up to prosecute defaulters of environmental issues to serve as a deterrent to those who flout environmental laws.
The state Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Joshua Omokhodion, made this known at a stakeholders’ meeting on environmental sanitation and pollution control held at the New Festival Hall in Government House, Benin City.
The state government and relevant stakeholders, including market women, religious leaders, and community leaders, signed a 10-point resolution to keep the state clean and green during the stakeholders meeting.
Omokhodion urged for collaboration among stakeholders, saying it is the best way to solve the challenges of waste disposal in Edo State.
