EFCC Embarks On Road Walk To Mark International Anti-Corruption Day


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recommitted itself to working with the corruption prevention template recommended by the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).


The antigraft agency’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede made the commitment in an address delivered by the Zonal  Commander, Benin Zonal office, Kanu Idagu shortly after a roadwalk across the streets of Benin City in commemoration of the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day.

 

Olukoyede said the body would pursue collaboration and synergy with local and foreign law enforcement agencies, professionalism and strict adherence to rule of law as the absolute minimum in all activities of the commission.

 

According to him, only through professionalism and adherence to the rule of law will the commission be able to contribute to economic growth by restoring investors’ confidence in the Nigerian economy.

 

He explained that increased professionalism means there will be zero tolerance for all forms of arbitrariness, and urged EFCC operatives to be more diligent and resourceful on their assigned tasks

 

The EFCC boss vowed that the body under his watch will punish infractions traceable to unethical practices, stressing that only the right things will be done at all times.

 

The roadwalk was attended by EFCC officials, members of the civil society and the media. They sensitized the people on the effectiveness of the anti-corruption agency and the need for everyone to join in the fight.
