Edo NHIA Assures Corps Members of Insurance Cover During Service Year


The Edo State Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority, Ambassador Theodore Ehannire has assured corps members posted to the state that the NHIA/NYSC Programme is a collaborative avenue for them to access free healthcare services during the service year.

 

He made the assertion while sensitizing corps members deployed to Edo State for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Orientation Course, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Okada, Ovia North East Local Government Area.

 

He noted that the federal government had made provisions for the automatic enrollment of all corps members into the NHIA programme right from their call up for National Service, regardless of their location during the orientation, post Orientation an up to three weeks after the national service.

 

Another resource person from NHIA; Dr. Olubunmi Egharevba, took Corps Members through the process of online registration, biometric screening and accessing free medical care on the NHIA platform at no cost to Corps Members.                                      

In attendance during the Lecture were the Head of Lectures represented by Abu Sherifat, the Resident Officer, Cynthia Baynes and the Head of Clinic, Oladipo Tunde.
