The Senate has approved the appointment of seven of the nominees of President Tinubu as Resident Electoral Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The nominees approved are Etekamba Umoren – Akwaibom; Isha Ehimeakne from Edo; Barrister Oluwatoyin Babalola- Ekiti; Abubakar Ahmed – Gombe; Shehu Wahab – Kwara; Aminu Idris – Nasarawa; Mohammed Sadiq – Niger.

The senate also confirmed the appointment of Shaakaa Chira as Auditor General for Federation.

The remaining three nominees were not present for screening.
