President Bola Tinubu has revealed that the political crisis rocking Niger Republic is putting him under intense pressure to intervene fast, but that he has been holding back due to his optimism of a peaceful resolution in the long run.
He added that his belief in the peaceful resolution is driving his approach to the issue as chairman of the Authority of Heads of States and Government of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, confirmed the President’s position after he hosted top Islamic clerics led by Sheikh Bala Lau at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
