The 2023 African Super Cup is set to be played outside the shores of Africa following the update coming from the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Al Ahly of Egypt defeated Wydad Casablanca of Morocco 3-2 on aggregate to lift the Champions League and qualified for the Super Cup while USM Algiers defeated Yanga SC of Tanzania to emerge winner of the Confederation Cup.
According to the update from the football body, Saudi Arabia is set to stage the Super Cup, and part of the deal has been agreed and signed.
The President of CAF Patrice Motsepe last month approached the Asian giant to foot the proposed African Super League that is set to take start this year.
