The management of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, has
dismissed 13 academic and non-academic staff for alleged
offences bothering age falsification, financial fraud, gross
misconduct, extortion and sexual harassment.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor
Asomwan Adagbonyin, said the decision was reached
following the recommendations of the University Staff
Disciplinary Committee which found them guilty of the
offences.
Professor Adagbonyin revealed this while presenting the
committee’s report to the Chairman, Engineer Andrew Olotu,
and members of the AAU Special Intervention Team in Benin
City.
He revealed that the disciplinary committee gave the affected
staff a fair hearing and recommended that “the criminal aspect
of the disengage staff offence should be reported to security
operatives.”
