Fatai Osho has resigned from his role as Rivers United coach a day after his team played a 0-0 draw with Niger Tornadoes in Match-day 13 of the league Kaduna.
The former Enyimba and Remo Stars coach made this known on his official Facebook page on Monday, where he wrote, "I resign my position as the Chief Coach of Rivers United FC. Best wishes to the team."
Meanwhile, a post on the same Facebook page showed him smiling in his hotel room with Rivers United jersey on him. Osho was appointed as coach of Rivers United in October 2021.
"Fatai Osho joins as our new Chief Coach. We’re delighted to announce Fatai Osho has joined the club as our Chief Coach. Fatai replaces Coach Ndubisi Nduka, who has been elevated to the office of Technical Director,” the post on official Facebook of Rivers United read.
Osho, who resigned from his job at the helm of affairs at Enyimba in August, will be partnering with Stanley Eguma, the club’s technical adviser." It added.
The current Nigeria champions are in the quarter final of the CAF Confederation Cup with Young African FC of Tanzania. As at the time of filling out this news, the reason behind his resignation is still unknown
Just few days ago, CAF inspector, Nasiru Jibril was at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium for inspection and raised hopes of the Port Harcourt based team of playing their remaining CAF club competition in front of their home fans.
Rivers United have been in great form and the only Nigeria club that are in contention at the continental level.
Fatai Osho was appointed as Remo Stars FC coach in 2018, he guided the team to her first NPFL season, but got relegated after finishing at the bottom of the standing.
Osho guided Remo Stars back to the NPFL immediately after spending one season in the NPFL, he however resigned when former Plateau Kennedy Boboye was appointed as the Technical consultant of Remo Stars and joined Enyimba fc as the assistant coach of the Peoples Elephants.
He was appointed as the interim coach of Enyimba following Usman Abdallah dismissal.
