CSO condemns attempt to truncate 2023 general elections


The Executive Director, Centre for Transparency Advocacy (CTA), Faith Nwadeshi has advised Nigerians to shun voting buying and selling which undermines the electoral process.
Nwadeshi also urged candidates and political parties to focus on issues based campaigns without overheating the polity. She made the remarks at a South-South Stakeholders Meeting for preparations of the 2023 general election held in Benin City.

The CTA Executive Director noted that security was critical to the smooth conduct of next month general election and appealed to all Nigerians to condemn the senseless attacks on the facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In his remarks, INEC Head of Voters Education, Timidi Wariowe assured that the commission has put in place modalities to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2023 general elections.
He appealed to youths who have registered to vote to be orderly while collecting their Permanent Voters Cards in Edo state.

Also, the Edo state Director, National Orientation Agency, Austin Odile appealed to INEC to ensure quality training and retraining of ad-hoc staff for the smooth conduct of the election.
