The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have confirmed that the Professor Nimi Briggs Committee is in negotiation with the unions.

The ASUU’s National President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke told reporters that the union had been negotiating with the Briggs Committee since last week over its demands.

Osodeke said the negotiation between ASUU and the Briggs Committee is being done quietly until when an agreement is reached before they approach the press.  

Similarly, the SSANU National President, Ibrahim Mohammed, confirmed that the union had two meetings with the Briggs Committee last week.
