Navy Says Committed To Ensuring Oil Production Increase To 3mb/d By December 2025


The Nigerian Navy says it is committed towards ensuring that the nation’s daily crude oil production increases from 1.8 million barrels to three million barrels by December, 2025 in line with the directive of President Bola Tinubu.

 

Speaking, at the Flag-off ceremony of Operation Delta Sanity Two in Port Harcourt, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla said the directive of the president must be achieved.

 

According to him, since the launch of Operation Delta Sanity, it has curbed crude oil theft, illegal bunkering and pipeline vandalism, stressing that the nation’s daily crude oil production has increased from 1.4 million barrels to 1.8 million barrels per day.

 

The Chief of the Naval Staff also said that plans are underway to achieve and surpass the daily production of 3 million barrels.

 

He commended President, Bola Tinubu for his support to the Navy, and vowed to ensure that the waterways are safe.

 

Also speaking, the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral, Saheed Akinwande said, that Operation Delta Sanity which was launched in January has contributed significantly towards checking the menace of crude oil theft.

 

He revealed that 315 suspects had been arrested with dug-out pits and storage tanks deactivated within the period.

 

On his part, the special guest of honour, Senator Heineken Lokpobori who flagged off Operation Delta Sanity Two, commended the Navy for ensuring the safety of the nation’s waterways and called for support for the Navy to boost the nation’s daily crude oil production.

 

The event was attended by heads of security agencies, stakeholders in the maritime sector, officials of the Rivers State Government, and businessmen among others.
