In a related development, the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State council, has threatened a media blackout on the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress for assaulting its members in the state.

Recall that some Journalists who covered the APC’s gubernatorial primaries on Saturday, 16th of February, were beaten up at the Lushville hotel in Benin, venue of the Collation of the gubernatorial primaries while their gadgets were also destroyed in the process.

The chairman, Comrade Festus Alenkhe while expressing his resentment, gave the APC in the state, a seven-day ultimatum to apologize to the union over the attacks on its members or be prepared for a media war.

The Edo NUJ Council also asked the Police Commissioner in the state, to fish out all those responsible for the attack and ensure that they are prosecuted.
