Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has urged the Federal Government to explore the possibility of joining economic bloc BRICS and sell the Nigerian crude to foreigners in naira and not in the United States’ currency.

He also said the Federal Government should reduce its reliance on the economic predictions and policies of Bretton Woods institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

He noted that countries in the BRICS bloc have insisted that they are not going to be tied to the American dollars. 

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria also said the government is dancing around the problem, saying that the circulars by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will not solve the forex challenges.
