Meanwhile, nine out of the PDP Governorship aspirants in the 2024 Edo State governorship election have rejected the outcome of the congress held on Sunday across Edo State.

Speaking on behalf of the nine aspirants, Barrister Anselm Ojezua said the congress was not held in line with the constitution and the laws that govern election.

He said the group had unanimously rejected the exercise as the election committee failed to hold an inclusive process that carries along all the stakeholders.

The nine PDP Governorship aspirants are Edo State Deputy Governor Comrade Philip Shaibu, Barrister Anselm Ojezua, Ambassador Martin Uhomoibhi, Barrister Omosede Igbinedion,  Osaro Onaiwu, Omoregre Ogbeide Ihama, Felix Akhabue, Hajia Hadizat Umoru and Barrister Authur Esene.
