The Edo State Police command has arrested 26 irregular migrants from Cameroon and Burkina Faso at Afua village in Uzaure, Etsako West local government area of the State.

The Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor revealed this during a press briefing to showcase the command’s achievements.

According to him, upon credible intelligence received by the DPO of Jattu divisional police headquarters, 16 male and eight female totaling 24 were Cameroonians while a male and one female were from Burkina Faso.

However, a man who identified himself simply as an excavator operator said he brought the migrants into Nigeria to join in the excavation contract he got as he is a Nigerian who had lived and worked in Cameroon.
