The Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has outlined an eight-point plan for Nigeria’s creative economy.
According to a statement from the office of the minister signed by Maryam Ahman, the minister has a mandate from the presidency to grow the creative sector, create new jobs, new revenue, amongst others.
She said a strong creative and cultural economy is a key driver of growth and that it presents an opportunity to accelerate Nigeria’s development on a local and a global stage.
She said the plan include Nigeria Destination 2030, skills development, creation and implementation of policy frameworks, focused strategy and collaboration, create enabling business environment, cultural heritage preservation, amongst others.
