Wednesday early morning fire ay the popular Balogun Market in New Benin has again brought to the fore conversation for prompt response and proactiveness by government agencies in stemming fire outbreaks in markets across Edo state.

Some eyewitnesses said the fire started following a power surge in one of the stores in the market.

Morris Osumili reported that it took the spirited intervention of youths in the area in preventing the fire from spreading to the entire facility.
