Industrial Court lays to rest controversy surrounding the collection of revenues and levies from tipper drivers in Edo State.

The Benin Division of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria

has finally laid to rest the controversy surrounding the union

that can collect revenues and levies from tipper drivers in Edo

State.

The suit instituted in 2018 had the Incorporated Trustees of

Edo Tipper Drivers Association as claimant and the Edo State

Government, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the Attorney

General of Edo State and Union of Tipper and Quarry

Employers of Nigeria as defendants.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Abiola Adewemimo held that

only Union of Tipper and Quarry Employers of Nigeria has the

power to collect revenue and levies from those involved in

solid minerals business in Edo State.

Chairman of UQUEN, Comrade Gabriel Osaigbovo,

Secretary, Comrade Bernard Iyare and Assistant Secretary,

Comrade Wilson Ogbachi spoke to Super FM in Morris

Osumili in this exclusive interview.
