The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), says it is not responsible for regulating social media networks and contents.

The submission came during a recent visit of the National Civil Society Council of Nigeria, led by its Executive Secretary, Blessing Akinsolotu.

He sought the intervention of the commission on some worrisome and misleading content on social media platforms.

The NCC Director, of Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka, however, informed the organization that the Commission’s mandate does not extend to controlling the content of such media platforms.
