Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi is set to join Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) club, Abia Angels as a free agent.

According to Oluwaseun Oyediji (Women Football Journalist), the NWFL Premiership Super Six chasing side are closing in on the historic signing of Ebi.

Oyediji told FAJ Sports that Abia Angels coach and Super Falcons assistant coach, Ann Chiejine played a huge role in influencing the switch of the veteran defender.

An agreement in principle is said to be in sight for the player and will be finalised in the coming days.

The 39-year old moved from Bayelsa Queens to Sweden in 2008 and spent the next 14 years playing in the topflight leagues in Turkey, Belarus, China and Spain
