The United States Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled
to travel to Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia later this month,
according to a statement by her office.
The visit will make it the most senior President Joe Biden
administration official to visit the African continent, CNN
reported.
Harris’ trip comes as the administration seeks to strengthen
its relationships with African countries, as competitors like
Russia and China have made moves in the region.
She is billed to visit the three aforementioned countries on a
historic trip, her first visit to the continent since becoming vice
president.
