The chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission,
Lauretta Onochie, has pledged to support the commission’s
efforts to develop the capacity of women in the region.
Onochie spoke at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt,
when she received members of the chairman’s team which
won the MD’s Cup for female teams during the five-day
football tournament.
This was contained in a statement signed by the NDDC
director, Corporate Affairs, Dr Ibitoye Abosede, and made
available to newsmen.
The NDDC boss noted that the month of March is globally
recognized as the International Month of Women and called
for parents to raise their children well and not discriminate
irrespective of gender.
