Edo State Government has approved the sum of 1.509 billion naira for the payment of all outstanding pension arrears to the affected 1,559 local government pensioners for the period of 1986 to 2021. 

This is contained in a statement issued by permanent secretary and chairman, Local Government Pension Bureau, Washington Osaro in Benin City.

The affected pensioners are requested to make themselves available to the Local Government Pension Bureau with their documents on or before January 27, 2023.

The latest announcement follows the earlier promise made by the Governor Obaseki led administration to address the outstanding gratuities due to pensioners in the state.
